The IEA Clean Coal Centre (IEA CCC) was formed in 1975, by those OECD governments who were members of the International Energy Agency. This was in the wake
of the oil crisis at that time. The Centre is located in London and employs about 25 people, most of whom are engineers, technologists or information
specialists. It is a non-profit making organisation funded mainly by members’ subscriptions.
The IEA CCC provides access to technical resource archives and databases. It also provides expert analysis of developments. information and knowledge
dissemination on the energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable use of coal in a balanced and objective way, without political or commercial bias.
